Biography
César Sosa-Padilla's research interests are in the fields of international macroeconomics and finance, (domestic) macroeconomics, and fiscal policy. Most of his recent research has focused on understanding sovereign default crises. Prior to coming to Notre Dame, he was an Assistant Professor of Economics at McMaster University (Canada). At Notre Dame, he teaches macroeconomics at the undergraduate level and international economics at the graduate level. During the AY 2019-20, he visited Princeton University as a Peter B. Kenen Fellow. During the AY 2021-22, he visited the Research Department of the Minneapolis Fed. Since May 2020, he is a Faculty Research Fellow at the NBER (IFM program). Since 2021, he serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of International Economics and for Oxford Open Economics. He received his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Maryland in 2012, and his Licenciatura en Economía at the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (Argentina) in 2005.
