Biography
Christiane Baumeister is the Lambert Family Professor of Economics at the University of Notre Dame where she currently also serves as the Associate Chair. She is an empirical macroeconomist whose research focuses on the dynamics of energy markets and the transmission of monetary policy. Much of her recent work is concerned with Bayesian inference in structural vector autoregressive models and the measurement of economic conditions at high frequency. Her research has been published in Econometrica, American Economic Review, American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, Journal of Monetary Economics, and Review of Economics and Statistics, among other scholarly journals. She is a Research Associate at the NBER and a Research Fellow at the CEPR. She serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Monetary Economics and the Review of Economics and Statistics, among others. Prior to joining Notre Dame in July 2015, she was a Principal Researcher at the Bank of Canada.
