Derry graduated from Notre Dame in 2011 with majors in Economics and Political Science and a varsity letter earned as a walk-on in football. Moving to New York after graduation, Derry spent a decade working on the credit trading desks at several bulge bracket investment banks prior to moving to the buy-side to apply those skills as an investor. He credits the Notre Dame Economics program with providing the analytical thinking skills to succeed across various market environments. He currently manages a long/short portfolio of corporate credit at hedge fund ExodusPoint Capital Management. In 2022, Derry fulfilled his dream of returning to his hometown of Houston with his wife Nola (ND 2011), a reproductive endocrinologist, and their children, Siena and Dario. He hopes to coach football as a volunteer and to teach his children to “love thee, Notre Dame.”
