Dario Cardamone, originally from Catania, Italy, graduated with First Class Honours in Economics and Finance from Queen Mary University of London. He then earned a joint master’s degree in Economics from the Barcelona School of Economics and Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Before starting his PhD at Notre Dame, Dario completed a supplementary course in macro-prudential policy at the Center for Research in International Economics. In his third year, he spent five months as a PhD Trainee in the Business Cycle Analysis division at the European Central Bank.
His research focuses on macroeconomics and macro-finance, with an emphasis on monetary and fiscal policy and their impact on financial markets.
