Alumni Board
The Department of Economics Alumni Board (DEAB), formed in 2022, is comprised of eight distinguished alumni from the department. The Board serves in an advisory capacity to the department and is available to interact with current students for mentoring and networking. The Board holds an annual meeting on campus each fall, during which it holds an open panel discussion on career pathways and a networking reception. Current students should feel free to contact any Board member for advice and mentorship.

Kate Broadbent
Kate Broadbent graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2016 with a degree in International Economics and English. After graduation, she worked for two years as a full-time volunteer at Cristo Rey New York High School, serving primarily as a college guidance counselor. She returned to Notre Dame to study theology and ministry in the Master of Divinity program, graduating in 2021. During her time in the MDiv, she worked at St. Margaret's House, in the Center for Social Concerns, as an assistant rector for residential life, and as a teaching assistant in the theology department. After a year in Seattle working as a high school campus minister and theology teacher, Kate decided to make South Bend home once again and currently serves as the Assistant Director of Spirituality for Notre Dame's Campus Ministry, where she coordinates retreats, small faith-sharing groups, and pilgrimages.

Alessandro DiSanto
Alessandro is one of the co-founders of Hallow, the most used Catholic app in the world. Alessandro graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a double major in finance and economics, as well as a minor in Italian. Alessandro began his career on Wall Street at Goldman Sachs in New York City before becoming a private equity investor in Chicago, focusing on the financial technology and services industries. After a series of life-changing experiences in prayer, Alessandro left his career in finance to join his friends and fellow ND alumni in building Hallow, a Catholic prayer and meditation app. Hallow has raised over $50M from venture investors, including General Catalyst and Peter Thiel. Along with the other co-founders of Hallow, Alessandro was recognized as a member of the Forbes 30 Under 30 class of 2022. Alessandro serves as a member of the Junior Board of Catholic Charities Chicago and is a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Sam.

Derry Herlihy
Derry graduated From Notre Dame in 2011 with majors in Economics and Political Science and a varsity letter earned as a walk-on in football under head coach Brian Kelly. Moving to New York after graduation, Derry spent a decade working on the credit trading desks at several bulge bracket investment banks prior to moving to the buy-side to apply those skills as an investor - he credits the Notre Dame Economics program with equipping him with the analytical thinking skills necessary to succeed across various market environments over time. He is the Head of US Investment Grade Credit at Schonfeld Strategic Advisors. In 2022 Derry fulfilled his dream of returning to his hometown of Houston, Texas, with his wife Nola (ND 2011), a reproductive endocrinologist, and their children, Siena and Dario. He hopes to coach football as a volunteer in his spare time and to teach his children to “love thee, Notre Dame.”

Andrew Kristiansen
Andrew grew up in Mendham, N.J. and graduated from Notre Dame in 2012, with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science. While on campus, he lived in Keenan Hall, participating in the Keenan Revue and Bengal Bouts. Since graduating, he moved to Manhattan and has worked for J.P. Morgan in credit risk management covering financial institutions. He currently lives with his wife, Brenna (ND '13), on the Upper East Side and enjoys traveling, cooking new recipes, and stressing out during Notre Dame football games in the fall.

Alexandra Muck
Alex Muck is an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company in the Dallas office. While she spends most of her time doing work in the consumer and logistics sectors, she also leads the women's group for the Dallas office and Notre Dame recruiting for McKinsey.
Alex graduated from Notre Dame in 2020 after majoring in finance and economics. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, catching up with friends, and walking on the Katy Trail in Dallas.

Elizabeth Munnich
Beth Munnich is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Louisville. Her research interests include the efficacy of health care provision, the health care workforce, and the effects of family structure on child outcomes. She has extensive experience conducting economic analyses with large health and economic data sets. Munnich has published papers in peer-reviewed journals including The Journal of Health Economics, The Journal of Human Resources, and Health Affairs, and has presented her research at numerous conferences and seminars. She teaches undergraduate and M.B.A. level courses in microeconomics, statistics, and health economics at the University of Louisville, and has previously taught Statistics for Economics at Notre Dame. Munnich also serves as a faculty scholar at the Commonwealth Institute of Kentucky, and a faculty affiliate at the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities. Munnich holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. in Urban Studies from Vassar College.

Georgia Twersky
Georgia is a University of Notre Dame graduate of the Class of 2020. Originally from Los Angeles, she completed her undergrad at Notre Dame and studied International Economics with a concentration in Spanish and a minor in Peace Studies. After graduation in 2020, she began her career in Indianapolis through Orr Fellowship with a full-time job placement at Roche Diagnostics in their rotational program (Accelerated Development Program, ADP). She completed rotations in Pricing, Business Operations, and Marketing, and now is in her second role at Roche as an Associate Marketing Manager. She enjoys serving on the board of the Notre Dame Club of Indianapolis and served for a year as the Director of Civic Engagement for Orr Fellowship. In her free time, Georgia enjoys taking her puppy, Bentley, to Indiana state parks, traveling, and reading historical fiction novels.

Evan Wray
Evan Wray is the CEO and co-founder of Mavely, a venture-backed social commerce platform that helps influencers earn commissions and products via a network of curated brand opportunities and top retailers. In 2021 Mavely was acquired by Nu Skin (NASDAQ: NUS), where Wray continues to run Mavely as an independent subsidiary of the public company. Evan has been recognized by Forbes’ “30 Under 30” (2017) and has deep experience in the digital advertising and technology industries. Prior to Mavely, Evan co-founded Swyft Media, the first emoji ad network, where he pioneered the idea of delivering native branded content directly to consumers in their favorite OTT messaging applications. In 2015, Monotype Imaging (NASDAQ: TYPE) acquired Swyft, where Evan continued to lead the organization as the VP of the newly formed Consumer Division. Following Swyft, he went on to be a founding partner of Irish Beef, a quick service restaurant franchise roll-up focused on implementing culture and technology to accelerate growth. Irish Beef was acquired by the private equity group Equicorp Partners in 2018. Evan also serves as a Venture Partner for TMV, a leading early-stage holding company overseeing two venture funds focused on ideas that will transform industries and inspire new ones. In addition, Evan sits on the Venture Builders Advisory Board at his alma mater, the University of Notre Dame, where he received a BA in Economics in 2012 and was a walk-on to the varsity football team. Evan lives and works in Chicago, IL.
