Student Clubs

The Department has three standing student-run clubs to provide learning and social opportunities: the Economics Club, the Women in Economics Club, and the Federal Reserve & Fiscal Challenge Club.

  2. Offer opportunities extending learning outside the classroom
  3. Promote fellowship between students as well as between students and faculty

Federal Reserve & Fiscal Challenge

The Federal Reserve & Fiscal Challenge Club offers students an opportunity to work on practical policymaking in a competitive environment. Co-advised by Professor Forrest Spence of the College of Arts & Letters and Professor Jason Reed of the Mendoza College of Business, the club participates in the Federal Reserve Challenge each fall semester and the Fiscal Challenge competition each spring semester. The Club has won the national title in the Fiscal Challenge competition five times (2017, 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2023).
